How ABout This Stylish Reading Nook

Stylish reading Nook - Autumn is approaching swiftly here in Germany. And with it the need to cocoon and cuddle up at home. And it is the time to dig into those books that have been waiting on your shelves way too long. And to do so in style, here comes a little inspiration for a neutrally hued reading nook. I love the refined simplicity in this photo, the use of white, grey and wooden hues. And the idea of storing books in weathered crates is fab, too. Grab your favorite blanket, choose your book and make the best out of crisp autumn eves!

Ideas For A Happy Weekend

Autumn is all around. It has gotten really fresh here in Germany and the nights are delightfully crisp and call for that extra blanket. Now if you like to celebrate a new season in your interiors too, you can choose to add a little seasonal decoration by creating an autumn inspired vignette. The pic above gives you one possible option. Think of muted, nature inspired hues and various textures. The above shown combination elegantly puts wood, metal, stone and glass into a decorative mix and freshens up the setting with a few fresh blooms. Weathered surfaces and rich textures speak of passing times and changing seasons. A few little things and here it is, an autumn inspired vignette. Happy weekend, folks!

Ideas For A Happy Weekend

Here is another great effect of blogging! You travel the world. Truth be told, quite often it's a digital voyage but not less amazing. Visiting the US west coast is still on my travel wish list. And speaking of the west coast, San Francisco is on top of my itinerary. This week I had the immense pleasure to travel to San Francisco - twice! And yes, digitally.

I was more than honored to be invited by two of my favorite bloggers, Victoria of SF Girl By Bay and Erin of Apartment 34, to guest blog on their blogs. I was super excited and both blog posts were strongly influenced by the current change of seasons. I am totally getting into the autumn vibe so I was thinking of how this influences my taste in interior design and decoration. And in both cases I tried to visualize that very feeling. I hope I managed to convey that feeling. If you haven't seen the posts yet, check them out here: my guest post on SF Girl By Bay and on Apartment 34.

Happy weekend!

Bedroom Inspiration: Autumn Lust

I might sound a bit annoying but I have to repeat it over again: the change of season gets me all excited! Even when we bid summer goodbye, I am in a happy state of mind. I am looking forward to the chilly nights with crisp air, to my favorite extra blanket to cuddle up, to rearranging my home decoration and set a mellow colour tone in my abode.

This bedroom above has caught my eye today. Even though I've always declared the colour brown as my least favorite unless we speak of coffee or chocolate (to drink and eat of course), I sort of feel the need to revise my decision. Brown hues can be so stylish, serene and comfy like in this pic. Combined with soft grey and black, this looks more than inviting. And I adore the moon prints - I have a similar one at home that I found here.

Are you getting ready for autumn?

Autumn Inspired Interior Design

Yesterday morning I went to work and I decided to use this chilly autumn morning to boost my energy and face a new day in the office. I took a deep breath of the crisp air, snugged into my scarf, and sipped on a hot cup of coffee-to-go while enjoying the colourful foliage and soaking in the morning sun rays. Immediately I felt inspired to write a blog post on autumn inspired interiors. Imagine saturated hues of mustard, ochre, dark blues, mauve, rich grey and earthy brown tones. Isn't it amazing how every season brings in fresh inspiration not only to fashion, food, but also to interior design and home decoration? With this twist of things, I am enjoying every day of autumn. Do you?
