Currently loving...

my new "hands free" baby sling, {thank you to my dear friend Lauren C.}, it is the only thing allowing me to steal a few minutes to scan the web and post my blog these days {I'm still officially on maternity leave}..here are a few more items on my favorites list this week!

Ines Fressange's style sense {I've actually admired the fashion model's layered style savvy since seeing her home in the final issue Domino} these images are a great motivator for me to whip myself back into shape.{although I will never look this tiny, I like food too much!} images: The Selby

My chic new diaper bag, from Stella McCartney's line for Adidas. {it's not actually a diaper bag, I think that's why I like it sooo much!}

Today's post on Fric and Frac. Every image lifted my spirits. I keep reminding myself that Spring is around the corner!

{i would switch out the bulbs for a round style}

All the goodies on Fyndes...these are a few of the items that would work at my house right now. Style Court initially brought my attention to this fabulous site full of vintage {some are actually affordable} finds...

Hope you are having a great day!

Nursery Update..

Hello, Hello, sorry about the lack of posts, I'm doing everything I can do stay sane on about three hours of sleep a night..My poor new baby has really bad acid reflux, so she never sleeps much!! I am going to start on her nursery at some point this month! Remember I was going to hang a collage of quirky boat artwork on the wall if I had a baby boy? Well I've decided to do the same with my "enchanted forest theme" {bunnies and deer} for Emerson's room. Here's a few of the pieces that could work..As I said I want the room and the art to feel as if it's evolved! I don't think any room should be "too perfect" because then it feels over designed to me! Oh and if you have any tips for an uncomfortable baby please feel free to send them my way!! Peace out for now. - Julie

If it's a boy...

So the "big" week is here..I'm having my baby at the end of this week. I'm of course, a bundle of energy and nerves. I wanted to share my baby boy ideas..I simply can't wait to find out what we are having gender wise..oh and please do feel free to share your favorite boy names in the comment section. I have three girl names I adore but we're having a tough time finalizing our boy names..

My creative starting point for the room was this painting shown above along with vintage nautical references. I don't love thematic rooms so I tried not too push it too far in that direction. I will mix in a number of various elements but the overall concept was boating and the sea!

This third board represents a mix of paintings and drawings I found on eBay. I am going to hang a salon art wall with a number of boating inspired paintings..I like the quirkiness of this mix!

From top to bottom left to right:

1. Large Painting - ebay

2. Monkey Knot - Door or book stop http://www.chadingtons.com/

3. Flame Stitch Pillow - Dransfield and Ross

4. Polar Bear Print - Linnea Designs

5. Crib Bedding - Rickshaw Design

6. Bamboo Pillow - Annette Tatum

Board Two:

7. Green Headboard - will be custom designed by Shelter

8. Shade idea - Custom by Shelter

9. Lamps - 1st Dibs

10. White Lantern - tbd. I do want to use an oversized white hanging lantern

11. Ship Print - ebay

12. Rug - Dash and Albert

If it's a GIRL....

Two weeks to go...and counting.. As some of you may know, I don't know if I'm having a boy or a girl. So I haven't even started the nursery {I know that's hard to believe seeing I'm a designer right?}. I have though of course compiled my ideas...Here are my schematics for a baby girl. I'm using the crib and changer I used with my son. They are white and have pretty clean lines.

Next week I'll share the "If it's a boy concept".

My inspiration was actually the fabric below and a German deer I found back in the Fall. The fabric reminded me of an enchanted forest, but didn't come in the correct colors. I love idea of incorporating wildlife {hence the deer and rabbit} and natural elements with a hint of glamour!

Cowtan and Tout - Savoy

{The room's official mascot - if it's a girl that is}

The window treatments will be pretty straight forward..I'm thinking of using a pelmet with a roman shade tucked underneath!

Sources and where to find them starting from the top left to right
1. Shoe photo: Jen Gotch photography

2.Cole and Son - Hicks Hexagon wall paper - this will be used as an accent in large frames

3 Love pillows - for guest bed + eventually my babe's bed that will also be in the room.

4. Light fixture. I purchased mine via ebay. This fixture is from Pieces Inc.

5. Bedding will be simple, white and feminine.

Board #2

6. Accent pillow fabric - Amanda Nisbet
7. Baby written in charcoal yarn

8. Headboard will be in charcoal linen - I will design my own and add it to my furniture line that I am in the process of compiling.

9. Adorable animal prints Sharon Montrose via Etsy.

10. Yellow accent lamps - Pieces Inc. - I like to throw things off a bit in my designs..

11. Pillow idea - Lisa Fine Textiles, image via Lonny Mag.

12. Chair - Number Four Eleven - Georgia

13. Dresser - Pottery Barn

14. Painting - Sarah Giannobile

15. Deer - Home Goods

I also love this print..I've seen it used before {I think Erika from Urban Grace may have used it in her girl's precious nursery} in any case. ..It's great, so it may find it's way into the room.

I'm not sure if Erika used this print, but I know that I learned of it from her fabulous blog. It's available through Etsy - Bibity

SNEAK PEEK - JENNIFER DELONGE

I love Jennifer DeLonge's sense of style. You may remember seeing her home published in, In Style Home, during the Fall/Winter of 07'. She mixes period pieces brilliantly. The mix of vintage, rustic and modern is truly one of my favorites!

Delonge also designs and sells a children's/nursery line...

Most gliders are awful, this one is perfect!

Delonge also sells reworked, vintage finds. {another favorite} This bed looks very much like the one I had growing up. {When my son is ready, he'll inherit it. I usually don't have a problem transforming a piece with paint, but I've decided to keep the original finish on my childhood bed - I do love the black lacquer though}

Love these ingenious tables
The Audrey + The Charles

Visit Delonge's site here, for more goodies + inspiration
