At Your Leisure - A Zine To Swoon

Finding inspiration at your leisure. Leaning back and taking in colours and stories at your leisure. These are the precious moments when we grant ourselves those quite moments with a great magazine to refuel our aesthetic spirits. And one amazing magazine just arrived from the US west coast to Munich - the fourth and final issue of 'At Your Leisure'.

'At Your Leisure' is a special project by J3 Productions of my fellow blogger friend Jonathan Lo of 'Happy Mundane' and after I'd seen the teaser video for the new issue I just knew I need to get it! The issue resolves around the theme 'Flow' and features among others an interview with artist Karen Kimmel and a peek into her great studio shot by yet another blogger friend, Laure Joliet of 'At Home At Home'.

I was totally smitten by the amazing photography, the divine colour inspirations and the adamant power of visual storytelling. Here I am sharing some of my favorite pages and if you feel inspired too you better click on and order one of the limited 500 copies here. I have issue no. 42 by the way. A great extra: each issue is hand signed and comes with a special gift. Yeah!

Happily Ever After: Singulares Magazine

What I love about Twitter is that it literally opens the doors to the world with a mere 140 characters. Through Twitter I've met some of the most inspiring people and just yesterday I tweeted with Justina Blakeney about the funny fact that after a while we kinda know the style and taste of other bloggers. But I digress. It is through Twitter that I got aware of yet another super cool e-magazine. Actually, the first Spanish interiors e-zine ever, Singulares Magazine.

Now I would like to inspire you to spend some Friday with this beautiful e-mag and get a notion of what is perceived as trendy and cool in Spain. Plus you will see some great interior shops in Barcelona, just in case you plan to visit the bustling Catalan capital.

No matter if you understand Spanish or not: I assume you all are very visual people just like me, aesthetes who read through images as well as through words. So if this is the case, then you'll have some good time with this Spanish e-zine. In this sense: ¡Friday, olé!

Happy Market Picks For Sister Magazine

Have you seen the new issue of Sister Magazine? It is a real inspirational blockbuster with 290 pages of creative ideas for the kitchen, the home, the lifestyle of digital ladies. The two sisters who run the magazine, Thea and Toni, accomplished a stunning work by bringing together so much creative and informative input in one e-magazine issue. Moreover, I was one lucky guy when Thea asked me to contribute to the second issue with a double-pager. I was asked to compile some inspiring market picks for a new home. Well hello!? With BIG pleasure! I was guided by the overarching theme 'blossoming beginnings' and had an instant idea of a colour that will tie my picks together: a springy and warm yellow. I browsed through a plethora of products, ideas and inspirations to finally bring together some favorite pieces that could definitely contribute to a blossoming and happy new home (see pages 132 and 133). I hope you like some of my ideas and feel the spirit of spring -  a new beginning with a home full of sunlight and warmth!

Happily Ever After: Heart Home Magazine

Right now I am spending my quiet evening on my sofa reading the spring issue of the inspiring Heart Home Magazine that was published just yesterday. I am delighted and whirled into a spring mood thanks to the hard and amazing work of the talented trio Arianna, Carole and Daniel. Earlier today I was thinking what to feature on today's 'Happily Ever After' blog post and after reading the first 5 pages of this magazine, the dilemma was solved: I could certainly live happily ever after with a charming interiors e-mag like Heart Home Magazine.

So I've decided to share some of my favorite tear sheets. I need not mention that I was beyond happy to see some of my great blogger friends such as Chedva (little hint: I am guest blogging on Rooms & Words) and Tina in this issue as well as my favorite British design duo Mini Moderns. If you haven't so far, click here for a vernal breeze of inspiration! Happy Friday!

Brand New: Sister Magazine

Today I am very happy to introduce the brand new sisterMAGAZINE to you. As you know, I am based in Germany, and I am more than excited to share news from the German creative scene with you. This new e-magazine is published in both, German and English and thus addressing an international readership. It is run by one of my great blogger friends, Thea Neubauer and her sister, Toni. These two digital and stylish ladies have reinterpreted the concept of a lifestyle magazine and refreshed the German market with this idea-, inspiration- and information-packed first issue of sisterMAG.

Readers are guided through 'rooms' instead of classical magazine categories and discover a plethora of articles focused on the kitchen (recipes, food expert interviews, table settings etc.), the living room (home décor, interior bloggers, artists, literary etc.) or the studio (DIY ideas and projects etc.).

Although the main target groups are 'digital ladies', everyone will find inspiring and informative articles in this ample first issue with a total of stunning 250 pages. So make sure you take a few minutes of rest and comfort and glance through the first issue of sisterMAG. I am pretty sure you'll find something interesting for you. Enough said, I need to read a bit now. Enjoy my friends!

Sneak Peek: 91 Magazine Spring Issue

It's end of January and to be honest, I am starting to feel a bit 'over and done' with winter and can't wait to welcome spring. Since the weather outside refuses to accept my wishes, I am warming my eyes and heart with a little exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming spring issue of 91 Magazine.

The 78 page edition is packed with inspiring and promising features including a look inside four London tearooms. This gives us a 'behind the scenes' peek and discovers how they have created their nostalgic interiors and how they've expanded their businesses to more than just tea.

There is a beautifully styled and photographed feature about crafty ideas for creating the perfect Easter table setting and style expert and author Jane Cumberbatch shares her favourite vintage finds from her own home. And much more - to be seen as of tomorrow at 91 Magazine. Enjoy!

Curing A Cold With Rue Magazine

These days are quite mean: work is piling, I am supposed to go to the international furniture fair IMM in Cologne this weekend, and a treacherous cold has put its grip around me. So I was wondering how to cure my lack of time and this nasty cold. And then I found one way to unwind. A pot of hot ginger tea with lemon and honey, a warm blanket and lots of cushions on my sofa - and the latest issue of Rue Magazine. So, today I am inviting you over on my sofa to share some of my favorite snippets from Rue Mag's January issue. Want a cup of tea, too?

Holiday Reading: New E-Magazine Issues

With the beginning of December we are literally overwhelmed by a wave of holiday issues of some great e-magazines. I bet you already glanced through most of them and got inspired by all the amazing ideas and features. Nevertheless I thought I'll present three amazing issues and my personal highlights from rue magazine, Adore Home and Heart Home magazine.

Rue Magazine is a top-notch example of an internationally renowned e-magazine. The US-based team produces content that not only is inspiring but makes you want to jump into those stunning interiors. Not to mention the extravagant home decor ideas that leave you coveting on your sofa or wherever you read the online issue. Check here the holiday issue.

Another big advantage of e-mags? You get them instantly. No matter where you are. That's how I come to adore 'Adore Home' magazine, an Australia based interiors magazine that bursts with colour and interior joy. Now, due to our hemispheric differences we are lucky enough to get a good deal of summery colours and fresh breezes from our down-under friends. See my favorites tear sheets and you'll understand what I mean. Read here the summer issue.

Heart Home Magazine is the youngest online publication in this little list. The UK team presents the second issue of this heart-warming e-mag that is made with so much love, dedication and hard work. I love the European flair, the inspiring home tours and the blogger picks. I jumped over to Bright.Bazaar to see a first sneak peek before the winter issue launches later today.
