BlogTour Sponsor: Samuel Heath

Today is my bathroom day apparently. Remember my previous post today about bathrooms? Well, here is yet another great BlogTour sponsor who is deeply rooted in the bathroom business: UK based Samuel Heath. Their product portfolio encompasses taps, showers and accessories for bathrooms, taps for kitchens, fittings and door closers.

Combining craftsmanship, responsible manufacturing and British design, Samuel Heath stands out of the crowd with eye-catching details for a stylish home. I was particularly smitten by the glam inspired products in dark shades, black monochrome faucets, and shiny details that adds a glam factor to any bathroom. Now you're spoilt for choice: whether you prefer a hamam or a disco glam bathroom, with our great BlogTour sponsors you'll have the right partner for your personal interior design process.

BlogTour Sponsor: Mr. Steam

Last weekend I was reading an interesting article in one of Germany's biggest daily newspapers. The topic: The bathroom is advancing to a personal spa in a growing number of German households. Now I was very happy to see that the fab BlogTour sponsor Mr. Steam has great solutions for the design and wellbeing conscious consumer. And I do believe that this is a global trend. We are becoming more responsible consumers: we pay attention to our nutrition, to sustainability in design and to our health in general. So a private spa for the personal well-being is just another step to take. And Mr. Steam certainly has something to offer.

The steam showers and towel warmers transform any bathroom into a modern hamam. If I had the opportunity to design my own home I would definitely pay due attention to the bathroom and create my very own spa.

Find Mr. Steam on Facebook and on Twitter. And they are available on the German market, too: Mr. Steam heats it up!

Style It Up: Bathroom Idea

When I get up, it's the first room I enter. Before I go to sleep, it's the last room I leave. The bathroom. Interior design and decoration doesn't stop in the living room, bedroom, or kitchen. A beautifully styled bathroom is actually a must: it pays aesthetic tribute to the bathroom's purpose - perpetuating personal hygiene, beauty, and aesthetics.

The picture above got me swooning over a black and white schedule for a sleek and stylish bathroom. Whether you are going to redo the entire bathroom by choosing new tiles, faucets, sinks, showers, tubs, and furniture or you're going to add a few new accents like accessories, textiles, and decoration items: decide on an overarching theme and scheme, and work your way until you've reached your aesthetic standards. And then enjoy spending hours dedicated to your personal aesthetics.

Tile Love: Made a Mano

I've always loved tiles. I think it's the abundance of materials, styles, colours and patterns that executed a great deal of attraction to me. I've admired traditional tiles from Morocco, Portugal, Italy and imagined their use throughout times for interior design reasons. I've also imagined them in my kitchen for the floor or the splashback. Or for the bathroom floor or walls. Yesterday I happened to stumble over an amazing producer of tiles while reading the Llamas' Valley blog. And I was enchanted.

Made a Mano is a Danish producer of tiles, countertops and sinks and they magically combine traditional handicraft with modern techniques. All this is topped with amazing photography on their website and the beholder is left behind with the almost insoluble question: which design to pick? So, which one would you pick?

Featured in Interiors Magazine 'Landhaus Living'

Today I want to reveal a little secret to you. Actually, a rather open secret. One of the clues to inner happiness, at least for me. Have you ever thought about the fact that we often measure and evaluate our being and our deeds by the appreciation and acknowledgment of others? One of the rules I keep repeating to myself every day is that I am able to achieve my goals, to fulfill my dreams, to change things. All by myself. That I am strong enough. With my mind, my heart, my hands. We are all unique and strong in our own ways, we just need to want it. And to believe in ourself. And then inner happiness kicks in.
On the other hand, appreciation and acknowledgment by others is something that enhances our lives, too. Ever since I embarked on the adventure called blogging I came to appreciate this fact even more. I consider myself a very lucky and above all happy blogger. I was warmly welcomed by all of you out there, you keep on supporting me and even some companies, PR reps and classic media have noticed me and my little 'Happy Interior Blog'. I already guest blogged for one of Germany's biggest lifestyle publication, but this time I am for the very first time featured in a print issue. I am one of the 'decoration experts' in the current issue of German interiors magazine 'Landhaus Living' and was asked to give a little decoration tip for the bathroom. I was beyond honoured to be considered an expert and asked to contribute to this issue. Especially since I found myself next to one very successful German blogger, Yvonne of Fräulein Klein blog. Well, to keep things short: Thank you 'Landhaus Living' & thank you all for being so supportive!

Loving Metro Tiles

I am back from Paris! I think you've seen how inspired and happy my prolonged weekend was and of course I came back with a strong inspiration for an upcoming interior design project. I am definitely in love with metro tiles. I enjoyed daily the simple yet beautiful tiles in the Paris metro. The beauty lies in their simplicity: they are white, rectangular, shiny, with flattened edges. So simple. So stylish. So urban. I would love a kitchen backsplash with metro tiles or a bathroom tiled with those beauties. I could see the lower half of the walls covered with metro tiles and the upper half of the walls painted in a sleek anthracite. Oh well, the only thing that I need now is an adequate kitchen and bathroom. Up to then, let's enjoy the inspiration!

Bathroom Pretties

Think of this very special room in our homes. It is one of the first rooms we enter in the morning and it is quite often the last one we spend some time before hopping into bed. I am referring to our very personal spa, the bathroom.

Sometimes we're rushed, very quick and efficient, other times we love to linger and relax in our little refuge. We store a plethora of useful, necessary and beautiful products in it, we light candles, we sip on glasses of red wine. We wash our faces, shave, comb, read a book, take baths.

The bathroom is way beyond a necessary room for our personal hygiene, it is a vital oasis for our physical recovery and mental retreat. So why not putting some emphasis on the interior design and decoration of bathrooms? Here we go with eight inspiring ideas that caught my eye today. What is the most important aspect in a bathroom for you?
