Calling on all Green Thumbs - Reader Question

Okay, so I usually answer reader questions but today I am asking my reader's one. I've been working on a lovely family room for a client. We are almost finished and want to add a bit of green to one of the corners of the room. I like the plant pictured above but neither myself or my client know its proper name. {i hope this is a large enough shot}. It's not a rubber tree, so does anyone know what this plant/tree is called?? Thanks in advance for your help!!! { isn't this a beautiful room}

Hot, Hot, Hot..

Perfect day for a dip. I am running around this week like a mad person, so here's a quick post to cool you off! If my memory serves me correctly I believe I went to a party years ago and hung out by the pool in this third image. It's an old pool {think 1940's; behind an even older house}. This was a long time ago but I never forgot the simplicity of the pool and the beautiful view of the water beyond. Happy Summer Day!

I've been seeing stripes...

Graphic or subtle stripes never really go out of style, but I've been spotting them everywhere lately. {left} Who could forget this chic nursery, featured in Domino a few months ago. I've incorporated large, horizontal stripes on the wall in my son's room. {right} The wonderful striped pillows pictured above by Danish artist, Lisbet Friis, would be a great starting point for a casual den or child's room.

{left} I've had this landscape photo stashed away in my files for a while now, I love how the graphic stripe plays off the sculptural pool. {right} Kate Spade's newest creative director, Deborah Lloyd, is introducing clothing and jewelry to the line.
