An Afternoon With Sweet Paul Magazine

Hello folks! Hope everyone had a fabulous long weekend! I certainly did. The good thing about long weekends is you finally get to do all the things that you've procrastinated during the past days and weeks. I had a pile of books and magazines to go through and enjoyed a warm and lazy afternoon on my sofa enjoying the spring issue of Sweet Paul Magazine. Since it's the US version I must say I was lucky enough to win one copy on Twitter and hence enjoyed a 140 pages of spring bliss.

I am pretty sure that most of you know Sweet Paul Magazine and love it, too. I really like the idea of combining cooking, home decoration and amazing photography in one magazine. Plus I love the idea that a blog has become a print magazine. The power of blogs rocks! In the meantime, be prepared for the Summer issue that will be published this Friday and a German issue has hit the newsstands here, too. I just didn't get a copy yet but will do soon! Happy Tuesday friends! P.S. Excuse my poor photography but I just took quick snaps with my iPhone.

New Shop: Mignon Kitchen Co.

Do you know that feeling when you click on a link, a website pops open, and from the very first sight you know: I enjoy this, I love this, I so need to blog this! Well, that exactly happened yesterday when I clicked on the link to a very new online shop called Mignon Kitchen Co. I was reading the great Odessa May Blog of one of my US blogger friends, Jennifer Prince, and discovered this little gem. Now tell me, isn't this sheer happiness for the eyes? Mignon means cute in French and yes, this shop and its products are more than just cute.

Mignon is Seattle based and run by Rachel Ball with - I can tell - lots of passion and love for making and sharing food. Rachel also writes the beautiful Elephantine blog - check it for more enchanting inspiration. The shop carries a selection of curated goods for prepping, baking, serving and sharing food, from everyday tools to little indulgences. You will find an inspiring assortment of kitchen tools, pantry pretties, tabletop accessories and packaging ideas.

I really love to discover beautiful new shops and websites and this one is a perfect example. Starting from the fantastic logo design and typography, the amazing product photography to the refined selection of products - this is exactly how an online shop should be. Thumbs up and triple like! What do you think, friends?

5 Happy Inspirations: Kitchen Friends

One thing I'd like to do more often is cooking. I'd love to spend more time in the kitchen (to be honest, first I'd like to have a decent kitchen and not a teenie-tiny kitchenette) and try out some concoctions found in inspiring cooking books and on Pinterest (oh yes, Pinterest has turned into an online cooking book, too). But my daily job keeps me from developing my chef qualities. But I strongly believe the day will come, when I will rock the kitchen - and I will be prepared! With many things. Among them, these five happy kitchen friends.

1. Paper napkins? Yeah right, if you organize a kiddo birthday. But not for decent table settings. How about these ethnic inspired Tulum napkins as seen at Anthropologie? Definitely a nice pop of colour!

2. Storing herbs, homemade jams, sauces, secret ingredients is a necessity. Storing them and blissfully arranging them on open shelves is another story. An all time favorite are these Weck jars as seen on Terrain

3. A good espresso is compulsory to round up a fine lunch or dinner. Here, the buzzword is 'classic' - like this espresso cooker as seen on Butlers.

4. I love a bit of a worn and rustic feeling - even in kitchen. No wonder I fell in love with this wooden bread board by Toast.

5. Surprise your guests with unexpected starters. And place them decoratively on this adorable Kate Spade tray. What's not to love about it, right?

Happy hump day, friends!
