Disney Happiness For The Home

Here in Munich, I enjoy a great advantage. I live downtown and there are many interior decoration and homeware stores just around the corner. One of them is Butlers, a German home & interior store, that has spread its wings to the UK and other countries recently. Truth be told, it keeps distracting me whenever I am on the way home after work - I always have to take a little tour just to grasp some inspiration from their lovely displays and table settings.  

When I heard that they are launching a new Disney collection for the home, I was all ears. The Disney characters have been the heroes of my childhood so I was imagining a renewed friendship on plates, mugs, totes. So here is just a little sneak peek of the upcoming collection that will be available from August 27 in stores and online, including kitchenware, home accessories and gift goods.

Moreover, Butlers is organising a great in-store event with a Disney illustrator in Germany, Austria and the UK. I will attend the Munich event and secure my own, bespoke Disney illustration. If you fancy one too, make sure to check it out in these cities: Cologne (August 28), Munich (August 30), Vienna (August 31), Berlin (September 3), Hamburg (September 5), London/Notting Hill Gate (September 6).

Ideas For A Happy Weekend

Staying in is my big plan this weekend. The weather forecast says rain and chilly. My body says rest and chilling. And my sofa says something like 'I am so comfy and look at your new cute pillow, snuggle up and stay here'. Well, after all it seems that even rainy summer weekends have a good side. They don't make you feel guilty for sleeping long and staying in. And if you abide by the concept of a happy home, you will most certainly enjoy even a rainy and cold summer weekend. By staying in. 5 Happy Inspirations: Copper Love

To be honest, with this rather unspectacular summer in Germany I sort of am open-minded to think of the upcoming autumn and winter season. What will be hot for interiors? Any colour trends? New decoration ideas? Well, one thing that I really like and would love to see trending in the next season is copper. There've been quite some copper ideas around, but I think there might be more to come in A/W 2012/13. What do you think? Hot or not? Here are '5 Happy Inspirations' visualizing my idea:

Ideas For A Happy Weekend

A long and happy weekend is here! What a fabulous opportunity to enjoy life to its maximum. As you might have noticed I like to come back to the topic of 'happiness' rather frequently (I count on you and your comments when I am getting overly obsessed). But I just wanted to share this little thought with you that came to my mind while I was walking back from work yesterday. I tend to take the same route everyday. Which gets a bit tedious I must admit. Then one day I changed the way to work and it was all so different. Just because I changed a little habit that I've got so used to. Yup, I changed a little pattern and found myself a bit happier than before. Maybe it is all it takes, from time to time, to boost and invigorate our happiness - to change patterns. Happily Ever After: Marimekko

Today I am such a good mood that I need to add a good splash of colour to my day. I've worked and now I am sitting at the Munich airport and waiting for my flight to Paris. So in order to tame my hunger for colour, I thought I'd share one of my beloved brands that is so iconic with patterns and colours for me: the Finnish brand Marimekko.

I am pretty sure that the majority of you guys knows this brand. They are globally renowned for their colourful fabrics with great patterns. They not only sell interior decoration but fashion, too. However, you know my obsession with everything for the home so I will focus on their current home range. Even though I started this as a colour story, you will notice a good deal of black and white goodies, too. That is just because I couldn't help but share these too as I love the simple yet adorable pattern.
